The exquisite art panel depicts an outline of the traditional Prophetic Sandal with its well-known pointed form. The original painting was implemented using opaque watercolor (gauche) in the late 17th or early 18th cent. and is a leaflet from a larger illustrated Maghrebi manuscript.

The calligraphy within the Naalain consists of the two testimonies of faith (the Shahadatan) in red. The blue border of Naal-al Nabi contains praises to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in white Maghrebi script. The image further includes the pulpit (minbar) of Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina and the Haram. The diagram is encompassed by a floral illumination. On the top two corners, in Kufic script, is inscribed the phrase 'Barakat Muhammad' translating to 'the blessings of Muhammad'.
